Movie Review: Rio 2

Image
I won two screening passes  (Thank you Salt City Weekly!) to see Rio 2 this past Saturday and I was  so  excited because! A) I love winning contests B) Tony and I had seen the first one on our honeymoon C) It's been awhile since we have been able to go to a movie screening D) I LOVE BIRDS!! We almost turned around when we got to the theater because people were holding their green papers and walking back towards their car from the movie theater. I decided to jump out and double check and I am so glad I did because there were still seats left.  People had just been walking out to their cars to put their phones away because they would not be allowed in to the movie with their phone.  The movie opens to the public on Friday the 11th. I dont want to say too much about the movie and besides, I have never reviewed a movie on this blog yet. But I do want to say I really enjoyed this movie - I smiled pretty much the whole time. We saw it in 3D w...

A Driving We Will Go

I got wrapped up in a world of busyness and have neglected updating you guys on anything that has been going on lately! I've been working a lot of overtime lately which is good, and bad, but good for the paycheck & I try to keep that in mind.  My goals have not gone so well in the month of March and I hope to get back on track in April. Besides work, I got to go on a fun roadtrip with Tony to St. George a few weeks ago. A great way to destress, relax and kick off the traveling season. Click here to read about being in St. George, exploring lava tubes and camping in Snow Canyon State Park,  we hiked to some Pioneer Names , we drove through Gunlock State Park and visited the  St George temple . I havent even blogged about going to Zion yet!  I have a couple reviews and giveaways up at Stacie Reviews It . If you live in Utah and love doughnuts , you have a few days left to enter this contest. Did you know Utah has its own subscription box? Che...

Doughnuts, donuts, they taste the same either way you say it. But have you ever tried a donut from  Beyond Glaze ? They were at a book signing event I went to a few weeks ago and I have never tried donuts quite like this! Check out this smores doughnut. I cant wait to try this one! How about this fancy cherry one? Here is the story of how Beyond Glaze started. Doesn't seeing how they make the doughnuts and decorate them make you drool?  If you'd like to go to one of their 3 locations in Utah, you can find them in Draper, Sugarhouse and Ogden!

Inspired Guns : Movie Review & Giveaway!

Image
Inspired Guns : Movie Review & Giveaway! It's been awhile since I've watched a new LDS themed movie but I had seen some reviews for this on TV and it looked pretty interesting and funny so I thought it would be cool to check it out. Inspired Guns is filled with action, danger, comedy and intrigue. The story is about a couple of LDS missionaries that get entangled with a case of mistaken identity. One of the Elders has a week left and is tasked to get his companion focused while figuring out who they need to teach from a dream he had been having. They end up teaching a couple Mafioso brothers and the FBI has their sights set on everyone involved.  This film was written & produced by Adam White who wrote the script in 2003. At the time there was no money to be made but ten years went by and Adam created and sold some Internet businesses he was able to save up the money to turn his script into an actual movie.  Inspired Guns was mostly filmed ...

Glover Cleaning Service

Image
I have never had anyone professional come and clean my home before so it was a real treat to have  Glover Cleaning Service  come and clean 2 rooms of my choosing! I picked the upstairs bathroom and the kitchen.  I didnt think either was too terribly dirty but they are my least favorite rooms to clean. Mainly the bathroom is what I avoid cleaning but once Glover came and cleaned, it has been easier for me to keep it up somehow. This is my before picture but sadly I didnt get any close up details...just a general overall view. Yes, my kitchen really is this small!  They cleaned my burners so well I was very impressed with how clean they got them They cleaned and organized the stove area better Sparkly clean microwave again! Fridge shelves were wiped down and there were no spills or smudges on the shelves  Now on to the upstairs bathroom! The tub has been getting harder for me to clean and was looking grungy.  Not ...

Fantastic Weekend Fun!

I had planned to leave work at 5pm on Friday but then my supervisor asked me to work on a couple snow removals for ATT (cell towers) so I stayed until 6/630, I cant remember. I was so antsy to start my weekend! Finally got out of work and met up with Tony. The story of what happened next is here , so you totally have to check it out & read about what I bought that night! Saturday we finished up some things with the purchase I had made Friday evening. Plus I had to work for 3 hours, oh well. Hopefully the days of working Saturday are over soon. Fingers crossed, we'll see. We got a late lunch at Firehouse Subs. I bought some awesomely fast cell phone chargers from a lady a the Facebook yardsale page. It actually works and stays tight in my phone which is hard to find. We went to Savers and Tony found some much needed pants. Finally went home and just laid on the bed and chilled. It was a tiring day! I did watch my 2 year old nephew later that evening which was fun. Sund...

Procrastination Station

Sometimes I procrastinate things. A lot. Sometimes it works out for the better but occasionally it does not. I've been car hunting for a couple months now (feels like longer) and I thought I had found the perfect car in Colorado. I'd been communicating with the guy quite a bit and one day after work I called him again and he said a lady was interested in the car and was coming up with the money to buy it. I cried and cried. It had been a long day but the car was pretty much perfect (minus electric windows and locks but that's something that can be fixed). I was so disappointed, if only I hadnt procrastinated calling him! Fast forward a few days later and I was at the bank getting a loan but they needed to know the address and name of the person who had the title in their name. I called the guy and got some weird answers so I decided to hold off. It started to feel a little scammish and not as legit as I had thought. Funny how I was so upset because I had procrastinated...

Let Me Link You Up

I hope everyone had a fun Valentine's day last week, whether you are single, dating, engaged or married, I think it can be a fun day. It all depends on how you look at it. Tony & I did some fun things which I will be blogging about soon, but for right now, take a look at the Valentine themed Pinterest party I hosted. Too fun! I got to go see the Sacramento Kings play the Utah Jazz at the end of January with a couple friends. It was so fun to hang out with Nicole and her friend and watch our hometown team play. Super huge thanks to Nicole for picking me up because my car was leaking radiator fluid like crazy so I didnt trust driving it anywhere, esp. all the way downtown. Tony wasnt home so she was my only hope! Or I could have ridden the train I guess... I am in love with the new Cricut Explore machine . It slices, dices, cuts, draws and more. I was stoked to be able to play with it some last week and get to know how to use this awesome crafting tool better.  Hav...

Bests & Worsts

Wednesday wasn't the best of days but I guess it wasn't the worst of days either. Here's what went down... Bests I used my Cricut machine tonight to attempt to make something cute for Valentine's Day for my team at work Tony and I had good conversation tonight about a whole variety of topics at dinner and while we were driving out and about tonight I think I got my UPS delivery problem resolved (see below) I found out that on Thursday at work, Costco is coming to sign people up for memberships if they want one and also bringing everyone pizza. Awesome. Nobody called and yelled at me at work today. I use the term 'yelled' loosely. I pretty much spoke to nice or semi nice people all day. Win. I thought about the new Cricut Explore machine all day at work today and it helped me get through the day even though the last hour I was super antsy to leave. Tony & his cousin are working on a Christmas tree for the Festival of Trees and my friend Zina s...

3 Months to the Day!

Last summer was a crazy one job wise. I ended my position at BMI Systems Group out of Arizona after 5 years. I had 2 temp jobs in the summer here in Utah after that but neither one panned out like I hoped they would. I was looking on KSL Classifieds one day and saw a customer service job to apply for. I was a bit hesitant because I'm not a fan of working with a lot of people and I didnt want to get roped into working at a call center.  Fast forward a bit, they responded to my resume, I got called in for an interview, I got called the same day and offered the job. Passed my drug test (thank goodness they snip a few hairs now for that) and got a desk , computer and phone. Was put on what I now believe (and was told when I started) the best team to be on. My supervisor is great, my teammates/coworkers are pretty nice and I've made a couple friends too. We work hard and get a lot of work orders. My team has won the monthly bonus twice now (once right before I came) and we cam...

Goals : Where I'm At

Commitments. Goals. Resolutions. Whatever you want to call them, they are always good to have whether you start them on January 1st or July 1st. I've been thinking a lot about my ' theme ' for the year these past couple weeks and really trying to apply it to my life. My friend Jibby did a really cool thing with her commitments for the year  that I keep thinking about and revisiting in my mind or actually clicking back to her post because I just love how she has picked each month to be a topic to focus on. To me, that really simplifies things and gives a better focus than being overwhelmed with so many new goals all at once.  I am no where near getting all my thoughts out as organized as my friend did, but bouncing back to my theme for the year I can give a little update on how things are going and where I'm at, or not at. I know it is barely one month in to the year but already I can see improvement in certain areas. So I know the post that introduced my th...

Fiat Rental, Christmas, Zoo Lights & More!

Sitting here at my parents house in Idaho writing this post before we head over to my inlaws house and then back to SLC in a few hours. Its been a fun time, celebrating Tony's grandma's birthday yesterday, she turned 85. It was fun to hang out with his family some and then later in the day we went to my sister's house for dinner and to downtown Boise to visit one of Tony's friends who is a traveling EEG specialist and is here for 13 weeks. Fun stuff! Here's some blogging I have done if you want to check it out and read anything. There is a super fun event coming to the South Town Expo Center next Saturday called the Winter Palooza that you should definitely participate in if you are in the area. I'm looking forward to getting a henna tattoo!  I rented a Fiat to go to Las Vegas last week for the Consumer Electronics show. I have never driven this car before so I thought I'd do a little review of how I liked it. The zoo lights were fun to go ...

Fiesty Fiat 2013 Review

Image
I rented this car to take to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this past Wednesday. It wasnt the car I was told I would get from the rental website but it was what was available when I got to the location to pick up my car. It got great gas mileage so I cant complain too much I guess even though I felt like I was almost driving the ' boot car '.  I started in SLC with a full tank and didnt fill up until I got to St. George. I did drive around Vegas a bit so I left the next day with about half a tank and stopped in St George again to fill it up. I didnt stop again until I got back to SLC. I think the gas mileage did better on this car than it does on my current car.  But maybe it is very close to being the same. I am sad I didnt get to track it that well.  I had no time to take pictures of the car in the daylight as I picked up the car Tuesday a bit after 530pm , left about 7pm to go to Vegas. On Wednesday I left Las Vegas around 845pm and got...
