Entertaining In Your Home

I don't know about you but I just love to invite friends over to hang out, eat, do crafts and connect face to face instead of online. How do you like to entertain? Is it something you enjoy or would you rather be the one being entertained? Keep reading to see how I entertain and what we have set up.

There are so many places in your home that you could use for entertaining, depending on the group of people you are having over, what the goal is and how your place is set up. When you are looking to buy a home, think about the setup you want if you are someone that plans on being a person that hosts get-togethers or events.

When we were looking to buy a home, something important to me was having a space to set up all my craft supplies and host Pinterest parties. At our place in Midvale, Utah we lived in a four-plex and had 2 bedrooms. One was a master bedroom and the extra bedroom was a guest room/ office/ craft room. It was a bit crowded, to say the least. That room served many roles. When I wanted to have Pinterest parties, they happened downstairs in the living room and kitchen area. A bit cramped, not great lighting but still a fun time.

We also hosted other events such as baby showers, Olympic watching parties and Superbowl parties. It was hard just having one main room downstairs to use to entertain and so when it was time to move, I made sure there was space for crafting as well as a back patio, living room and family room.

Some Pinterest party fun

Currently, we are in a place that has some good spots for entertaining. I've been able to host Pinterest parties, a pie party, birthday party and have plans to have people over for s'mores around our fire pit that Tony built. So many fun things to add or do with entertaining areas in a home

Some things that you can do that will add value to your entertaining spaces are:

If it's a backyard - add grass! It makes a great first impression.

Add a deck or a sunroom. These would be fun places for entertaining as well.

String up some fun lights over your pool or around your patio. Adds a nice touch.

Some other things I'd like to do eventually...

I envision having a hot tub someday or even a pool where friends could come over to chill in the heat of the day or relax in the cool evenings.

I'd love to set up an outdoor movie area between the house and the she-shed to watch shows or movies on when it cools down enough outside.

What is your favorite or a popular spot you entertain people in your home?
