I had planned to leave work at 5pm on Friday but then my supervisor asked me to work on a couple snow removals for ATT (cell towers) so I stayed until 6/630, I cant remember. I was so antsy to start my weekend! Finally got out of work and met up with Tony. The story of what happened next is here , so you totally have to check it out & read about what I bought that night!
Saturday we finished up some things with the purchase I had made Friday evening. Plus I had to work for 3 hours, oh well. Hopefully the days of working Saturday are over soon. Fingers crossed, we'll see. We got a late lunch at Firehouse Subs. I bought some awesomely fast cell phone chargers from a lady a the Facebook yardsale page. It actually works and stays tight in my phone which is hard to find. We went to Savers and Tony found some much needed pants. Finally went home and just laid on the bed and chilled. It was a tiring day! I did watch my 2 year old nephew later that evening which was fun.
Last Wednesday I got to go to Dev Mountain in Provo to hear YouTuber Stuart Edge speak. If you have not heard of him, definitely go check out his channel. He is pretty funny! He spoke about "How To Be Funny & Make Money" which caught my attention although I did not know that was the topic before I went. What drew me in was who he is (I have seen him before and watched some of his videos) and there was free food afterwards. Spoiler alert - it turned out to be just cookies. All I wanted was real food! However, Sodalicious has fantastic cookies, esp their sugar cookies. Alright! Here are my notes, enjoy.
Figure out what you do. Figure out who you are.
Don't paint yourself in a corner
We paint ourselves as something. Facebooker. YouTuber. Don't paint yourself in a corner. What/who does the real world say I am? Give yourself more room to grow. Vlogger? Ok a reality tv show. How are my ratings. How can I grow? Expand your brand.
Figure out how we can make money
Was April a crazy busy month for you? It sure was for me! There's a lot that happens in April! General Conference (LDS), Snap conference (for bloggers), the Let's Create Expo, my parents came to visit Utah, celebrating our 7 year anniversary and hosting a Pinterest party. The month felt like it went very fast and I am sure it's because I had so much going on. I'm still working on blogging about everything but most of it is done. I'd say I am 95% done blogging about April which is kind of amazing to me since I took so many pictures and documented a lot of things. So! Here you go, click whatever link(s) you might be interested in reading more about. Enjoy!
